Kids Wetsuit
A kids wetsuit helps protect children and even babies against the cold water and elements at the
beach.
Wetsuits are excellent for water sport activities and it guards them against the chilly wind and cooler water
temperatures.
As well as keeping them warm, the kids wetsuit is excellent as an additional floatation device, depending on the
brand, thickness and type of fabric.
As always though, adults should supervise the children when they are near the water. The wetsuit protects them
while they are out in deeper water and the floatation properties also aids them in confidence and learning how to
swim.
Some wetsuits even contain built in flotation devices that are located discreetly within the suit. Most children do
not even realize that they are there. This is a good measure against flotation devices that can come off in rough
surf or they child takes them off.
Another benefit of a kid’s wetsuit is they also offer protection from jellyfish. Some species of jellyfish can be
hazardous and the sting of a jellyfish can be incredibly painful for a child, some even life threatening. The
material helps guard against the jellyfish sting to the body. The long lengthen sleeve and leggings wetsuit covers
most of the limbs and should be worn in tropical areas known for jelly fish and other dangerous marine
stingers.
Scrapes and scratches while playing in the surf is another hazard, as these cuts and abrasions can become infected.
A wetsuit can help reduce skin contact with light coral, jagged stones and other ocean debris.
Children’s wetsuits have also become common fashion accessories on beaches today. Some kids even wear them in
indoor swimming pools. Wetsuits are not just protective gear only, as today these colorful and fun suits have
become a style of fashion for many kids and adults.
Wetsuits come in a wide mixture of colors, styles and designs and kids wetsuits are no exception. Surfing, body
boarding, canoeing, swimming and windsurfing kids can look apart on the beach.
The child’s wetsuit of today is easy to work, with zippers and Velcro straps designed to make getting them on and
easier and quicker. This is useful for those endless trips to the bathroom.
Although floaties are still popular, the new wetsuits provide a great deal of kid friendly warmth and comfort that
appeal to both parent and child. Wetsuits also offer some protection from the sun and sunburn, just don’t forget
the hat and sunscreen.
Staying in fashion is not a problem when wearing a kid’s wetsuit. Children are more than happy to put on these
sporty suits that give them the appearance of being seasoned surfer or sport pros. From baby wetsuits to full
length thick children’s wetsuits, there are a wide array of fashions and types to choose from. Keeping the child
safer from the water and warm is a good reason to start children out early in wetsuits and looking good is a
bonus.
